If you're in Lodi, CA, and are looking to upgrade to a hybrid or EV, you may have heard of ValleyCAN (Clean Air Now). It's an initiative that helps drivers in areas like ours take advantage of different grants and options to make getting behind the wheel of a new hybrid or EV more affordable, and here at our dealership, we're a partner in this program and can help you through the process.

What is the ValleyCAN Program?

Through the Valley Air District, those who have eligible vehicles can replace their older, high-emission options for newer and cleaner options, which include upgrading to a hybrid or electric vehicle. In Lodi, drivers are eligible if they can meet the following criteria:

  • Your current vehicle is from the 2006 model year or older
  • It is a gas-powered vehicle and operational
  • It's been used and driven in California for the past two years
  • You have owned the vehicle in your name for at least 6 months
  • Household income must be at or below 300% of the federal poverty level

We'll need a copy of your most recent tax return or W-2 to verify income and household size, and you must reside within the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District jurisdiction.

Once you're able to get approved for the ValleyCAN program, you can then start shopping for both new Toyota and pre-owned Toyota vehicles that are from the 2018 model year or newer.
